CCTV, telephony and announcements on a single CAT6 run

We have recently introduced a solution for educational institutions, factories and offices that uses a single CAT6 cable to serve multiple functions within the classroom. The all-in-one system includes CCTV cameras, a PBX system for communication management, and a public announcement system that can be activated by dialling a single number from any connected phone.

Announcements go to specific classrooms or groups — dial 900 for the whole of the ninth grade, 901 for 9A, and so on — and can also be broadcast through an IP-based horn speaker for larger areas such as playgrounds.

One CAT6 run for CCTV, telephony and announcements A network switch at the centre. CAT6 cables run out to four classrooms — 9th-A, 9th-B, 9th-C and 8th-A — each with an IP camera feeding the room's mic and speaker. On the left, an IP PBX and an FXS gateway serve analog office phones 201 to 205; an IP phone on extension 206 dials the announcements. A recording and display desk sits below the switch, and an IP horn speaker covers the playground on the right.
